چکیده
This study contains a lab-scale investigation into the feasibility of applying an adsorption technique to treat wastewater polluted with lead metal simulated that exhaust from battery manufactory. Rice husks have been prepared for use in three forms; natural rice without any activation, activated carbon pretreated Sulfuric acid H2SO4, and other Potassium hydroxide KOH. Activated using KOH provided best condition removal than H2SO4 husks. The BET surface area morphology by FESEM analysis were characterized. values (20, 561, 722) m2/g husk, sulfuric acid, potassium respectively. process was studied Pb2+ at temperatures (25-40)o C concentration range (20-100) mg/l. maximum ratios or activation after 1h 51.21%, 92.3%, 97.25%, capacity onto husks, KOH, carbons (37, 86.2 94.6) mg/g respectively, 100 ppm 25oC. equilibrium curves obtained data fairly well fitted Freundlich-isotherm confidence level 0.99. kinetic two models, pseudo first order second order. results showed rapid increase rate initial until achieved. Basic dyes removal from wastewater by adsorption on rice husk carbon
Rice husk carbon (RHC) has been prepared from rice husk impregnated with 50% H3P04 and carbonised at 300°C. Its adsorption capacity has been tested for the decolourization of wastewater containing safranine and methylene blue. The effect of system variables such as concentration, temperature, pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage and particle size are investigated. Removal of dye has been found to...
متن کاملRemoval of Methylene Blue from Waste Water Using Activated Carbon Prepared from Rice Husk
The possible utilization of rice husk activated carbon as an adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions has been investigated. In this study, activated carbons, prepared from low-cost rice husk by sulfuric acid and zinc chloride activation, were used as the adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue, a basic dye, from aqueous solutions. Effects of various experiment...
